Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team that competes in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Eastern Conference. The team plays their home games at TD Garden. The Celtics were founded in 1946 as one of the original eight teams. The Celtics are one of the NBA’s most successful franchises. The team currently holds the record for the most recorded wins out of any other team. In addition, they are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most NBA Championships, with 17.

The Celtics most dominant era occurred between 1957 and 1969, when they won eleven championships. Bill Russell, one of the greatest centers of all time, was a member of all eleven teams. The run included eight consecutive between 1959 and 1966. The Celtics also won three championships in the 1980’s. Those teams were led by Larry Bird, one of the league’s greatest scorers. The 1980s Celtics also included hall of famers Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, and Dennis Johnson. Boston’s most recent championship came in 2008 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The team was led by four perennial all-stars including Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo.

The Celtics are currently led by young stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown. Tatum, the third overall pick in the 2017 draft has blossomed into a superstar in four years. He is a complete player who is especially deadly as a post scorer and stretch four. Brown, the third overall pick the year prior, is one of the league’s best three and d wings. He has proved that he can do more than that, demonstrating strong ball handling and rebounding skills, while also being able to attack the basket.
