The Kansas City Chiefs are an American Football team that plays their games in Kansas City, Missouri at the historic Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs were established in 1960, as the Dallas Texans, and competed in the American Football League. In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and were renamed the Chiefs. In 1970, the American Football League merged with the National Football League, leading to the former AFL teams being absorbed by the NFL. As a result the Chiefs began play in the NFL’s American Football Conference, representing the AFC West. The Chiefs compete in the AFC West alongside the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Throughout the last decade, the Chiefs have been the powerhouse of the AFC West. Since 2013, the Chiefs have made the playoffs eight times, (every year except 2014) including taking home the division title in each of the last six years. The Chiefs have also been in the AFC Championship game in each of the last 4 years, representing the AFC in the Super Bowl in two of those seasons. They beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLIV, and lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Buccaneers in Super Bowl XLV. Led by generational quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs perennially have one of the most high powered offenses, which is helped out by elite receiving tight end Travis Kelce.
