New York Giants

The New York Giants are a professional American football team. The Giants play in the National Football League and compete in the league’s historic NFC East alongside the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Football Team. The Giants play their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Despite playing their games in New Jersey, the Giants represent the New York Metropolitan Area, which consists of parts of New Jersey. (including East Rutherford) The Giants were founded in 1925, making them the NFL’s oldest team in the Northeastern United States. The Giants have won eight championships in their history. They won four NFL titles before the Super Bowl era in 1927, 1934, 1938, and 1956. They have also won four Super Bowls, with the most recent one coming in 2011 (XLVI). In Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI, Eli Manning started at quarterback and defeated Tom Brady’s New England Patriots. Manning, a future hall of famer, was the prolific Giants quarterback that started from 2004 until 2018.

In 2019, the Giants drafted quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick. Nicknamed Danny Dimes, Jones has an electric arm, and once he is able to make better decisions in the pocket, will be an elite quarterback. Jones is paired up with running back Saquon Barkley, one of the league’s young stars, who was drafted second overall the year prior. Jones and Barkley lead an exciting offense that is poised to take the next step along with the defense, which was among the most improved a season ago. The Giants have a real shot of returning to the postseason this year for the first time since 2016.
