Band Formation

The band was formed in 1994 when Pat Monahan, Jimmy Stafford, and Scott Underwood were touring as the band "Monahan Stafford". They decided to call themselves Train after their tour went through San Francisco. The addition of Rob Hotchkiss and Charlie Colin came in 1995, and then Darnell Miller in 1998.

Music Career

In early 1995, Train started touring with their former bassist, Johnny Colt. In August of that same year they released their first album titled Train. They recorded this album with the first lineup, and they became popular around the world.

1997-1999: Train, Save Me, and My Private Nation
