The Washington Commanders are part of the National Football Conference (NFC) and are in the division of the NFC East. The team is located in the Washington, D.C. area and plays their home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.

The Washington Commanders were founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves. The team was renamed to the Redskins in 1933 and moved to Washington, D.C. in 1937. The team was renamed to the Washington Football Team in 2020, and later renamed to the Washington Commanders in 2022.
